Scripture Word Activity: Understand

Daniel 10:12 Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.

In this scripture we hear the angel talk about how Daniel humbled himself before God and set his heart to understandem. We learned this past Sunday, near the end of service during prayer, about how trying to process the spiritual through the mind does not work. We often think of the scripture that says “do not lean on your own understanding..” But we also hear the Lord comes to reason with us, He wants to reveal mysteries and secret things to us, His beloved, His daughters and sons. So like Daniel, we should set our hearts (Strongs defines this also as our “inner man” to understand…especially as we move through this month of discerning times and progress to the next month when the Lord wants to bring us revelation.

ACTIVITY : Pick one of the scriptures posted. You can choose your own or one somebody else posted. Humble yourself before the Lord and tell the Lord you set your heart to understand. Read the scripture – say it out loud, mull it over, consider it, and jot down what the Lord shows you. If nothing comes to you right away then continue what you were doing but keep the scripture in your thoughts as you go about your day and week. The Lord is faithful, and He says when we seek Him we will find Him – He will show you something. Let the scripture bounce around your heart until the Lord shows you something. Don’t settle for what you’ve already known. Go deeper than before.
